Hello everyone! I'm Jess Robbin, a sophomore at SCSU. My major is Nursing and I'm also on the dance team. I am so excited to be serving as the president of SCSU's Hillel. Being Jewish is such a strong component of my identity. I want to share my passion for Judaism with all of the Southern community. Jewish students finally have a place here! Also, I want to welcome everyone to our new website! Here you will find a calendar, pictures, updates, and messages about our club. I am so excited for all we have to come for Hillel. We are going to be hosting a wide variety of events so everyone is guaranteed to find a program they like. We need a lot of support and involvement to keep our organization available and thriving. Hi everyone! I am Sara Helfand and I am excited to serve as the Southern Hillel Vice President of Programming/Ritual. I am so excited to build this community with you all! We are so excited to have a Jewish community on campus and we plan to organize events such as Shabbat services & dinners, tikkun olam (community service) opportunities, holiday parties, events that present different aspects of Jewish culture, and events with other schools and Jewish communities. As a goal, I hope that both students living on and off campus feel that they have a Jewish community at Southern that they can go to for holidays, Shabbat, and as a way to make new friends and connections. We also would love to hear from you & would love to hear any ideas or suggestions that you all have for our future as an organization on campus!

I am thrilled to see Hillel developing and finding it’s place on Southern’s campus. I hope to help make Hillel a home away from home for the Jewish students of SCSU.
